Genie’s Marine range is a series of cameras that are available in either a bullet or dome style housing with the highest quality 2mp, 5mp or 8mp image sensor options coupled with a fixed 3.6mm, varifocal 2.8-12mm or varifocal 5-50mm megapixel matched precision lens. These cameras are made from 316 grade stainless steel, however, what does this mean and why would you choose them?
There are 3 main types of stainless steel: Austenitic, Ferritic and Martensitic. Each one has varying factors that make them suitable for different applications in different environments. The Genie Stainless Steel range of cameras are made of austenitic type of stainless steel with a 316-grade alloy. This is a great choice of stainless steel as it has a high resistance to corrosion and surface rust as well as being non-magnetic reducing the risks of causing interference with sensitive radio equipment.
